J Phillips Grab & Tipper Hire was founded in 2016 by director Joe Phillips, starting with a single Foden hook loader. Over the past decade, the company has steadily expanded its fleet and services, now operating 8 modern Trucks in 2026 with more investment planned.
The business has grown into a well-known and professional supplier across the North West, serving a wide range of clients including tier 1 contractors. It has achieved FORS Silver and is a proud member of the Road Haulage Association we are also supported by a skilled and dedicated team.
Looking ahead, the company aims to expand the fleet and improve our systems, while continuing to grow and adapt to customer needs.

Grab & Tipper Hire
We are experts in the grab and tipper hire field. Based out of Radcliffe, Manchester, we are able to supply aggregates and muck away for sites all over the North west. We can support all your project needs with supply of recycled or quarried aggregates, and also offer a reliable muck away service including self-loading grab wagons

Hook loader hire
Our fleet includes an 8 wheel hook loader wagon allowing us to be more versatile and adapt to different client needs. This allows us to use one wagon for plant movements, muck shifts and aggregate deliveries and also roll on roll off skip deliveries. We have a number of bodies and skips for this wagon to suit any requirement

Recycled Aggregates
Currently we are accepting hardcore, concrete, bricks and stones into our facility and producing graded and tested 6F2 material which can be delivered to site. Our 6F2 material is suitable for use in road formation, piling mat formation and can be used as a general fill material, a cheaper and more environmentally friendly alternative than quarried aggregate

Muck Away & Waste Management
We are an approved waste carrier, registered with the environment agency. We can assist you with any scale of muck away operations on site, we work with you to find the most affordable disposal methods, We advise our clients on how to deal with abnormal material disposal requirements, with a number of options for muck, hardcore, hazardous waste, green waste, demolition waste etc. We want to help you keep costs low whilst also ensuring progress does not slow on your site.

Flexibilty
We are able to offer all of our fleet day and night, we also have number of highly skilled operators who have their highways passports and the relevant qualifications to assist with any Highways England projects as well as other works. Our plant, grabs, tippers and plant wagon can be provided for night works across the North west

Plant hire
We currently have a small fleet of plant available for both self drive and operated hire options. We have 13t excavators and 10t Rubber ducks available for hire with a number of attachments and upgrades including full surround cameras and pedestrian detection systems
